Frequently Asked Questions

What is my age?

Your age is the amount of time that has elapsed since your date of birth. This calculator computes your exact age in years, months, and days by comparing your birth date to today's date (or any date you choose). For example, if you were born on June 15, 1990 and today is March 10, 2025, you are 34 years, 8 months, and 23 days old.

How does this age calculator work?

The calculator subtracts your date of birth from the reference date (today by default). It accounts for varying month lengths and leap years to give you an accurate count of complete years, remaining months, and remaining days. It also converts that span into total months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes.

How old is my child?

Enter your child's date of birth in the 'Date of Birth' field and leave 'Age at Date' blank. The calculator will display their age in years, months, and days as of today. This is especially helpful for pediatric check-ups where exact age in months matters.

Can I calculate someone's age on a past or future date?

Yes. Enter the person's date of birth and then set the 'Age at Date' field to any past or future date you want. The calculator will tell you exactly how old they were or will be on that specific date.

How many days have I been alive?

The calculator displays your total number of days lived in the 'Total Days' output field. It takes your birth date, counts every calendar day up to the reference date (including leap-year days), and displays the full count.

How many weeks have I been alive?

The 'Total Weeks' result divides your total number of days by 7 and rounds down to the nearest complete week. Any remaining days beyond the last complete week are already shown separately in the 'Total Days' field.

Can I use this calculator to find the age of an object or historical event?

Absolutely. The 'Date of Birth' field can represent any start date — the founding of a company, the construction of a building, or the manufacture date of a collectible. Enter that start date and the calculator will tell you how old the object or event is.

How to calculate age from birthdate in Excel?

In Excel you can use the DATEDIF function: =DATEDIF(A1, TODAY(), "Y") for years, =DATEDIF(A1, TODAY(), "YM") for remaining months, and =DATEDIF(A1, TODAY(), "MD") for remaining days, where A1 contains the date of birth. However, this online calculator is faster and handles all units automatically.
