Duckpin Bowling Score Calculator

Duckpin bowling follows the same basic scoring as 10-pin bowling across 10 frames, with one key difference: bowlers get three balls per frame instead of two (except when a strike is scored on the first ball). A strike (all 10 pins on ball 1) scores 10 plus the next two balls. A spare (all pins cleared in two balls) scores 10 plus the next one ball. The perfect score in duckpin bowling is 300, the same as in 10-pin bowling. Achieving it requires a strike on every ball thrown — 12 consecutive strikes in total (including bonus balls in the 10th frame). In practice, perfect games are extremely rare in duckpin bowling due to the lighter balls and shorter pins.

In the 10th frame, if you throw a strike on your first ball, you get two additional bonus balls. If you convert a spare (knock all remaining pins with your second ball), you get one bonus ball. If the frame is open after two balls, you still get a third throw — unlike 10-pin bowling — because duckpin rules always allow three balls per frame.
