This calculator is designed primarily for PTE Academic (and PTE Academic UKVI), which uses a 10–90 scale across four sections. PTE Core (used for Canadian immigration) and PTE General have different scoring systems and formats, so results may differ from those tests.
PTE and IELTS scores can be roughly converted: a PTE score of 50 corresponds to approximately IELTS 5.5, 58 to IELTS 6.5, 65 to IELTS 7.0, 79 to IELTS 8.0, and 90 to IELTS 9.0. Many institutions and immigration bodies accept both tests, so knowing your equivalent band is useful when comparing options.
For most skilled migration programs (e.g., Australian PR or Canadian Express Entry), a minimum of CEFR B1–B2 is required, which corresponds to roughly PTE 30–58.
