Frequently Asked Questions

How is the parking cost calculated?

The calculator works out the total hours between your arrival and departure times, then applies the selected lot's rate structure. This includes the base hourly rate, a daily maximum cap, and a weekly cap (with the 7th day free, where applicable). You always pay the lesser of the accumulated hourly charges or the applicable daily/weekly maximum.

What is the difference between Long-Term Garage and Long-Term Surface parking?

Both charge $2.00 per hour, but their daily and weekly maximums differ. Long-Term Garage has a $12/day and $72/week cap, while Long-Term Surface (North Lot) is capped at $10/day and $60/week. Economy Lot is the most affordable at $9/day and $54/week.

How does Valet Parking pricing work?

Valet Parking charges a flat $12 for stays of five hours or less, and $18 per day for longer stays. There is no hourly breakdown beyond the five-hour flat rate — making it predictable for short visits but more expensive than self-park options for extended stays.

Is there a weekly rate available?

Yes. Long-Term Garage, Long-Term Surface, and Economy Lot parking all offer weekly rates with the 7th day free. Weekly caps are $72, $60, and $54 respectively. The calculator automatically applies the weekly rate when your stay spans seven or more days.

What happens if I lose my parking ticket?

A Lost Ticket Fee of $10.00 is typically assessed when the original parking stub cannot be produced upon exiting. This fee applies to Short-Term, Economy, and Long-Term lots, but does not apply to Valet Parking. This calculator does not add this fee automatically — add it manually if needed.

How accurate is this parking cost estimate?

This calculator uses the published rate structures from common airport-style parking facilities. Actual rates vary by location, facility, and any special promotions or discounts. Always confirm current rates with the specific parking provider before your visit.

Which parking lot is the cheapest for a multi-day stay?

For stays longer than one day, the Economy Lot is generally the most affordable option at $9/day or $54/week. Long-Term Surface Parking is a close second at $10/day. Short-Term Parking has a $24/day maximum, making it the most expensive for overnight or multi-day stays.

Can I use this calculator for any parking garage?

The pre-loaded rate structures are based on typical airport parking lots. If your parking facility has different rates, you can use the duration output (total hours and days) as a reference and apply your facility's rates manually. A custom hourly rate option may be added in future versions.
