Batting strike rate is a metric that measures how quickly a batter scores runs relative to the number of balls they face. It is expressed as the number of runs scored per 100 balls. A higher strike rate means the batter scores faster, which is especially important in limited-overs cricket like T20s and ODIs.

To calculate your batting strike rate, divide the number of runs you scored by the number of balls you faced, then multiply by 100. The formula is: Strike Rate = (Runs Scored ÷ Balls Faced) × 100. For example, scoring 50 runs off 40 balls gives a strike rate of 125.

A good strike rate depends heavily on the format. In T20 cricket, a strike rate above 130–140 is considered excellent, while anything above 100 is decent. In ODIs, a strike rate of 85–100 is solid. In Test cricket, even a strike rate of 50–60 can be commendable, as longevity and patience are prioritized over scoring speed.
