Add Minutes Calculator

To add hours and minutes, convert everything to minutes first, sum all values, then convert back. For example, 1h 30m + 2h 45m = 90 + 165 = 255 total minutes, which equals 4 hours and 15 minutes. This calculator does all that automatically.

Adding 30 minutes to 9:45 gives you 10:15. You can use this calculator by entering 9 hours 45 minutes in one row and 0 hours 30 minutes in another to get the total of 10 hours 15 minutes.

There are 9 hours between 8 AM and 5 PM. If you need to subtract time, enter 17 hours 0 minutes for 5 PM and 8 hours 0 minutes for 8 AM and compute the difference manually, or use a time difference calculator.

Enter each work session's hours and minutes into a separate row. The calculator totals all entries and shows the result in hours and minutes, total minutes, and decimal hours — which is especially useful for payroll and invoicing.

Decimal hours express time as a single number — for example, 1 hour 30 minutes becomes 1.50 hours. This format is commonly required for payroll systems, billing software, and invoicing because it's easier to multiply by an hourly rate.

This tool supports up to 5 time entries at once. For longer lists, you can run multiple calculations and add the resulting totals together, or use a spreadsheet for bulk time tracking.

Blank or zero entries are simply ignored in the total. You don't need to fill all 5 rows — only the entries with values will be included in the calculation.

Divide the total minutes by 60. The whole number part is the hours, and the remainder is the leftover minutes. For example, 145 minutes ÷ 60 = 2 hours with 25 minutes remaining (2h 25m).
