Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I use time zones instead of locations?

The tool uses UTC offset values to calculate conversions, which is functionally equivalent to selecting by time zone. Locations are mapped to their standard UTC offset. Note that daylight saving time (DST) adjustments are not automatically applied — check whether your region observes DST at the time of your event and adjust accordingly.

How do I share an event with others?

Once you've filled in your event details, the results table shows the event time for major cities worldwide. You can copy those times and paste them into an invitation email, social media post, or calendar invite so attendees in different regions know exactly when to join.

Why are the times shown incorrect?

The most common cause is selecting the wrong source time zone. Make sure the 'Event Time Zone' field matches the zone the event time is given in. Also note that this tool uses standard UTC offsets and does not automatically account for daylight saving time, which can shift clocks by one hour during summer months.

Can an event be repeated or scheduled regularly?

This tool is designed for single event announcements. For recurring events (e.g. weekly meetings), you can run the calculator each time with the next occurrence's date, or note that the time-of-day conversions remain constant as long as DST status does not change between occurrences.

How do I change the home location shown in results?

Simply change the 'Event Time Zone' dropdown to reflect the time zone you want to use as your reference point. All other city times will be calculated relative to whatever UTC offset you select as the event's source time zone.

What does the event duration field do?

Entering a duration (in hours and minutes) allows the calculator to show an event end time in UTC and across all time zones. This helps attendees see not only when the event starts but also when it finishes in their local time.

Does this tool account for Daylight Saving Time (DST)?

No — this calculator uses fixed UTC offsets and does not automatically apply DST rules. If your region or your attendees' regions observe DST, you should manually adjust the hour by +1 or -1 depending on the time of year and region.

Why is the same time displayed in multiple zones?

Some cities share the same UTC offset, so they naturally show the same local time. For example, London (UTC+0) and Reykjavik (UTC+0) are in the same zone. Additionally, if you selected UTC+0 as your source time zone, cities also at UTC+0 will display the same time you entered.
