Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use the online stopwatch?

Click the Calculate / Start button to run the stopwatch simulation with your configured settings. For a live in-browser stopwatch experience, set your alarm target and lap count, then use the tool to review pre-computed lap breakdowns and summaries.

Can I record lap times with this stopwatch?

Yes. The stopwatch generates a full lap log based on your max laps setting, showing each individual lap time and the running total time. The lap table updates so you can compare splits at a glance.

How does the alarm feature work?

Enter a target time using the Alarm After (Minutes) and Alarm After (Seconds) fields. The stopwatch will flag when your elapsed time reaches that threshold, making it useful for interval training or timed tasks.

What is the difference between lap time and total time?

Lap time is the duration of a single segment since the last lap was recorded. Total time is the cumulative elapsed time from the very start of the stopwatch to that lap.

Can I turn off milliseconds to keep the display cleaner?

Yes. Set the Display Milliseconds option to 'No' and all time values will be rounded to whole seconds, which is handy for activities where sub-second precision is not needed.

What is the fastest lap feature?

The Fastest Lap output highlights the shortest individual lap time across all recorded laps. This helps you identify your best split during a workout, race, or timed drill.

Is there a limit to how many laps I can record?

You can configure up to 100 laps using the Max Laps to Record field. The default is 10 laps, which covers most common use cases like running intervals or cooking timers.

Can I use this stopwatch for sports training?

Absolutely. The combination of lap tracking, fastest lap detection, and an alarm target makes it well suited for interval training, sprint timing, swimming sets, and circuit workouts.
