Work Hours Calculator (Weekly)

For each day, subtract your start time from your end time to get the total shift duration, then subtract any unpaid break time. Add up all daily totals to get your weekly hours. This calculator does all of that automatically — just enter your times and breaks for each day.

Divide the minutes by 60 and add to the whole hours. For example, 7 hours 45 minutes = 7 + (45 ÷ 60) = 7.75 decimal hours. This is the format most payroll systems use for calculating pay.

Under the US Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), non-exempt employees earn overtime at 1.5× their standard rate for any hours worked beyond 40 per week. This calculator lets you set your own overtime threshold and shows regular vs. overtime hours separately.

Unpaid lunch breaks should not count toward your worked hours. Enter your break duration in the 'Break (mins)' field for each day and the calculator will automatically subtract it from that day's total.

Standard time-in/time-out calculators assume the end time is on the same calendar day as the start. If your shift crosses midnight (e.g., 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM), the end time will appear earlier than the start time and the calculator will treat it as a next-day end, adding 24 hours automatically.

This tool is useful for hourly employees tracking their own hours, managers verifying timesheets, freelancers calculating billable time, and anyone who needs a quick weekly hours total without specialist payroll software.

The estimated pay is a gross estimate based on the hourly rate you enter multiplied by regular and overtime hours. It does not account for taxes, deductions, bonuses, or jurisdiction-specific wage laws. Always confirm final pay with your employer or payroll system.

Simply leave the start and end time fields blank for any days you don't work. The calculator will only count days where both a start and end time have been entered, and skip empty days entirely.
